Why this site exists

Most "best tool" articles are landing pages reworded, with affiliate links stapled on. Best & Tested is the opposite: a single, opinionated place that scores every tool against the same real-world brief on each category's own fixed rubric — so you can pick the right tool in minutes instead of trial-and-error weeks.

Who writes it

I'm Marios K.. I build SaaS products and websites for a living. Every tool here is scored on the same published rubric, with pricing and limits verified against the vendor's own pages — never reviewed from its landing page. Because I ship software for a living, the reviews here are grounded in the same engineering judgment I'd apply to my own stack — not a spectator summarizing a feature list.

How we keep it honest

• Scores are set on each category's own published rubric — every tool judged only against others in its category — explained here.
• A tool's score is decided before we check whether it even has an affiliate program. Several of our top picks don't.
• Failures and limitations stay in the review. If a tool has a ceiling, we tell you where it is.
• Affiliate links are always marked, and they never change a score. Full disclosure.
